Prominent Hindu scholars and writers in past started using transliteration of certain words like: atman for atma, brahman for brahm and others followed that trend without any consideration. These writers also started using ‘a’ at the end of a noun, excessively; just like, Arjuna for Arjun, (Aryan; white, noble; hero in the Bhagavad-Gita.) jnana for gyan (knowledge) and samsara for samsar (circling; reincarnating, the world as we know it.), Ashoka for Ashok (third monarch of the Indian Mauryan dynasty), and Atma for Atm (personal spirit), the Atum of the Egyptians.
