God himself is sometimes pictured riding a Cherub.
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw the Lord (IHWH) sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, (Kedosh, Kedosh, Kedosh) is Jehovah of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Isa 6;1
He rode on a cherub, and flew; he came swiftly upon the wings of the wind. Ps 18:10
Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherubim on which it rested to the threshold of the house. Eze 9:3
And the devil has an army of chariots like these...
The shatterer has come up against you. Man the ramparts; watch the road; gird your loins; collect all your strength. The shield of his mighty men is red, his soldiers are clothed in scarlet. The chariots flash like flame when mustered in array; the chargers prance. The chariots rage in the streets, they rush to and fro through the squares; they gleam like torches, they dart like lightning. Na 2;1 ...which sounds a lot like the UFOs that keep popping up through the ages.
In the Egyptian Pyramid texts Osiris ascended on his iron throne.
