In physics and chemistry, plasma is a partially ionized gas, in which a certain proportion of electrons are free rather than being bound to an atom or molecule. The ability of the positive and negative charges to move somewhat independently makes the plasma electrically conductive so that it responds strongly to electromagnetic fields. Plasma therefore has properties quite unlike those of solids, liquids or gases and is considered to be a distinct state of matter. Plasmas are by far the most common phase of matter in the universe, both by mass and by volume.[5] All the stars are made of plasma, and even the space between the stars is filled with a plasma, albeit a very sparse one. (Wikipedia)

Plasma is the fourth state of matter. It is distinct from the three lower-energy phases of matter; solid, liquid, and gas. In old days these states of matter were called the "Elements"; Earth, Wind, Water and Fire. Plasmas are the most common form of "matter", comprising more than 99% of the known visible universe. Commonly encountered forms of plasma include the Sun and other stars (which are plasmas heated by nuclear fusion), lightning flashes, -balls and -sprites, the Aurora borealis, the solar wind, and interstellar nebulae. A plasma is also generated in lit fluorescent lamps and in front of a spacecraft's heat shield on re-entering the atmosphere, or by simply microwaving a flame.

In fact, Plasma is essential to all life on earth, that is quickened by ongoing lightening discharges hitting the earth over 8000.000 times a day. This energy in turn is generated by our sun and even by deep space exploding stars and reaches us in the form of Solar wind and Radio-waves.

Since Satan represents life-force; animal soul, this puts the remark made by Jesus about him - falling to earth as lightning - in a whole new perspective.

"I saw Satan fall like a lightning-flash out of Heaven," Lu 10;18 WEY

In the same sense it offers an explanation for the lightening shafts Zeus is holding in his hand.

Spherical Plasma Orbs, or lightening balls you can see, if you're lucky, and feel, if you're not so lucky, and these are energy fields; bodies of energy, that reportedly keep their shape for up to twenty minutes. Ball lightning has been connected to reports of several supernatural phenomena, ranging from will o' the wisps to UFOs. Some people believe the ball lightning phenomena are ghosts or spirits, or are related to poltergeists and other spirits that take the guise of orbs of light. They are often called spooklights or ghost lights by folklorists and paranormal enthusiasts in the United States. Sometimes the phenomenon is classified by the observer as a ghost, elemental, or fairy.

Earthly life has to do with electricity and with Plasma.

Where plasma is ionized, or electrically charged gas, this gas without the electrical charge would be called Aether.

Aether (also Ęther, Greek: Αἰθήρ), in Greek mythology, is one of the Protogenoi, the first-born elemental gods. He is the personification of the upper sky, space, and heaven, and is the elemental god of the "Bright, Glowing, Upper Air." He is the pure upper air that the gods breathe, as opposed to the normal air (Ἀήρ, aer) mortals breathe.
