Meta (Greek: μετά = "after", "about," "beyond"), is a common English prefix, used to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, used to analyze the latter. For example "metaphysics" refers to things beyond physics. Meta-thronos as such wouldn't mean next or behind the throne, nor would it mean above the throne, (the way Seraphim fly above the Throne) but it would mean beyond or higher in importance than the throne of the highest God, which is a contradictio in terminis; an impossibility.
