Atum; "he who completes, or perfects" The primeval Egyptian sun god and creator of the world. He is the evening aspect of the sun, representing the setting sun. The Memphite creation myth stated that Atum was conceived in the heart of Ptah and was created by his word. Later he was syncretized with Re as the god Atum Re. According to the myths, he was the first substance (a hill) who emerged from the primeval waters. Same as in Sumerian Myth Ki-Anu (Earth and Spirit as a unity) was born in Nammu the primal waters; Before all befores.
Atum, ancient one, who first dawned from Nun, from the black deep of her primordial night.
Book of the Dead, chapter 15a
Atum created the deities Shu and Tefnut
(waters) from his spittle
or from his semen in the act of masturbation.
Atum was especially
worshipped at Heliopolis, where he was the head of the Ennead cult. He was
represented by a sun disk and uraeus carried between the horns of the black bull
Mnewer. As the father of the pharaoh, he played an important part in the
coronation rites. Atum was depicted as old man symbolizing the setting sun, but
he also appeared also a snake, a scarab, and a Mongoose. The snake, bull, lion, lizard and
Ichneumon (Mongoose) are his sacred animals.
The
Memphite creation myth stated that Atum was conceived in the heart of
Ptah and was created by his word. Literally,
.
The being Atum;
Atum is the whole that contains everything.
He is ONE, not two, he is everything, not the many.
The everything is not many different things, but the unity containing the parts.
You think that there are many gods?
This is absurd; God is ONE.
Atum alone is creator of all perishable and imperishable things.

Though we, the fish, cannot see further than the arm, it doesn not mean that there is no one attached to it.
