ANGEL TASKS

Now the servant of the man of God, having got up early and gone out, saw an army with horses and carriages of war all round the town. And the servant said to him, O my master, what are we to do? And he said in answer, Have no fear; those who are with us are more than those who are with them. Then Elisha made a prayer to the Lord, saying, Lord, let his eyes be open so that he may see. And the Lord made the young man's eyes open; and he saw that all the mountain was full of horses and carriages of fire round Elisha. 2Ki6;15

One of the most famous episodes of angelic intervention, was the supposedly widely reported descent of an angelic army in August 1914, which came to the aid of the British forces against the Germans in Mons. ... The angelic host's assistance could not have come at a more propitious moment as the British were being driven back by the relentless German advance." Angels A to Z , Matthew Bunson. -This event shortly after became discredited by the publication in a Newspaper of "The Bowmen"; a fictional account of a similar battle, by Arthur Machen.

Or do you think that I am not able now to call on My Father, and He will place beside Me more than twelve legions of angels? Mt 26:53

These "warrior angels" wouldn't just sit there, but are very much able to perform.

And He cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Let the overseers of the city draw near, even each with his destroying weapon in his hand. And behold, six men came from the way of the Upper Gate which faces north, and each had his shattering weapon in his hand. And one man among them was clothed with linen, and a writer's inkhorn by his side. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar. And the glory of the God of Israel had gone on from the cherub, where it was on it, to the threshold of the house. And He called to the man clothed in linen, with the writer's inkhorn by his side. And the LORD (Yahwèh; not necessarily God) said to him, Go through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning because of all the abominations that are done in her midst. And He said to those in my hearing, Go over in the city after him, and strike. Let not your eye spare, nor have pity. Fully destroy old men, young men and virgins, and little children and women. But do not come near any man on whom is the mark. And begin at My sanctuary. And they began at the old men who were before the house. And He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out! And they went out and killed in the city. Eze 9;1 MKJV

And the angel of the Lord went out and put to death in the army of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand men: and when the people got up early in the morning, there was nothing to be seen but dead bodies. Isa37;36

The shatterer has come up against you. Man the ramparts; watch the road; gird your loins; collect all your strength. The shield of his mighty men is red, his soldiers are clothed in scarlet. The chariots flash like flame when mustered in array; the chargers prance. The chariots rage in the streets, they rush to and fro through the squares; they gleam like torches, they dart like lightning. Na 2;1 ...which sounds a lot like the UFOs that keep popping up through the ages.

Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will burn your (the same) chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions; I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no more be heard. Na 2:13

So Peter was kept in prison: but the church made strong prayer to God for him. And when Herod was about to take him out, the same night Peter was sleeping in chains between two armed men, and the watchmen were keeping watch before the door of the prison. And a great light was seen shining in the room, and an angel of the Lord came to Peter and, touching him on his side so that he came out of his sleep, said, Get up quickly. And his chains came off his hands. Then the angel said, Put on your shoes and get ready to go. And he did so. And he said, Put your coat round you and come with me. And he went out after him; and he was not certain if what was done by the angel was a fact, for it seemed to him that he was seeing a vision. And when they had gone past the first and second watchmen they came to the iron door into the town, which came open by itself: and they went out and down one street; and then the angel went away. Ac12;5

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, guiding them on their way; and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light: so that they were able to go on day and night. Ex 13:21

Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. Ac 7:30
