Due to precession, our planet changes its position every 2148 years (give or take) in relation to the constellations. These periods traditionally bring great changes. Six thousand years ago we found ourselves in the cycle of Taurus, the Bull. Civilizations in that era worshipped bulls as their prime godheads. Some two thousand years later we entered the cycle of Aries; Ram and the Ram became a manifestation of the most important godheads. When Christianity replaced heathendom (Paganism) two thousand years ago at the start of the cycle of Pisces; Fishes, the Ram became the symbol of the devil, and went the same way as the Bull before him. This is the reason why Enlil, and Baal are pictured with Bullhorns and later gods with the horns of a Ram or a goat.

Soon we will enter the Age of Aquarius, the water carrier which will bring its own changes. Nevertheless Astrology still holds to Ram as the beginning of the Zodiacal cycle. These signs are not all the same size, which should be about 30 degrees (1/12 x 360') of the Zodiac. Some are smaller which actually leaves room for a thirteenth sign the Ecliptic is running through, namely
the Snake-bearer; Ophiuchus, the thirteenth zodiacle sign.
