In Jewish mysticism creation was divided into the Day and the Night.
The Day, Sabbath; the Light was ruled by Sabbathiel, the Lord of the Sabbath; Michael, who (because of this, like his name says) is like God. (Enki)
The Night, Zebul; the darkness; matter was ruled by Zebuliel or Belzebul, the Lord of Zebul; Enlil.
Before the creation of man, Enlil ruled the world by "riding the serpent", Samael.
Enlil was the prince of the angels, the king of the gods who would later be known as Metatron.
Metatron/Enlil/Satan up to his fall took orders from the councils of the gods and from God; Anu (Spirit).
After his fall his job, the function of Metatron was taken over by Michael/Enki.
