Nimrod (Rebel) erected the Tower of Babel.  He swore to build a tower high enough not to be covered by any flood.  When the sages told him that a child was born that would be elevated above gods and kings, he had about 10000 children killed and hunted down all pregnant women.  According to the Talmud the giant Nimrod was killed by Esau.

And Cush was the father of Nimrod, who was the first of the great men of the earth.   He was a very great bowman, so that there is a saying, Like Nimrod, a very great bowman.  And at the first, his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.  From that land he went out into Assyria, building Nineveh with its wide streets and Calah,  And Resen between Nineveh and Calah, which is a very great town. Gen. 10;8
