In Norse mythology, Huginn ("thought") and Muninn ("memory") are the two ravens of the chief god Odin. Each morning Odin sends forth these raven and they fly over the earth. At night they return and sit on his shoulders to tell him what they heard and saw.
Hugine and Munin are names of two of the at least six wing clipped ravens that are kept in special cages in the Tower of London on special decree of Charles II back in the 17th century. The other present ravens are called; Baldrick, Bran, Branwen, Gundulf, Gwyllum, and Thor, after Norse and Celtic gods. Legend goes that the British monarchy would fall if these ravens should ever die or leave the Tower.
